Holding Mercury | Chicago’s Holding Mercury was named one of 2008’s Top 100 unsigned bands in Music Connection magazine for good reason. The band is self-described as “all the best elements of the sophisticated pop bands you loved (and still love) from the ’80s, á la The Police, Crowded House, Duran Duran, Cheap Trick, U2 and The Cars, pumped through a Marshall stack cranked up to 10!” Holding Mercury is one of those bands credited to keeping the Chicago music scene as a forefront of cutting-edge modern rock.
